Oh ones wise in the ways of reaming...I saw on here a few days ago how some of you made a reamer out of your old king pins...

Anyone care to elaborate on how this is done and what you are looking for clearance wise whilst reaming?

I found a clunky kingpin today- I guess this car isn't going to spare me any part of the LBC experience...

I would rather learn how to do this myself than shop it off and wait, I'm weird that way.

Although I can't complain my wishbones aren't cracked...yet

Oh man. Guilty. I've searched but for whatever reason that one didn't pop up - got 'er bookmarked now. Seems doable.

I hope new kingpins come with the major suspension kit...moss shows them N/A.

i used a cutoff wheel in a die grinder (zizz wheel) to cut slightly angled vertical/slightly helical slots in the pin. maybe 10 slots/bush? i then ground the eye end into a rough hex shape so i could chuck it in drill. it works ok. not great if you are ocd, but it gets the dob done. b4 you go through the trouble, try just fitting a new kingpin since the pin wears faster than the bushings

Not as easy as it sounds and I still recommend Peter C at World wide. Though as Ricks post mentioned I've done a couple of sets and you may get lucky by only having to replace the bottom bushing with no reaming necessary.

Remember after reaming your Car needed to have wheels move up and down but also turn left and right. Not only is reaming important but using the correct sized washer under the trunion cap so things don't bind up under load. Peter has done 2 sets for me. Popped them in the mail 2 days UPS to Madison, WI, a day in his shop, and back to me 2 days later properly reamed, correct spacers, and ready to bolt on. Price was right and I know it was done correctly. Safety Fast

World Wide stopped doing kingpins sometime last year. Anywhere else that you could send parts off and get this done?

Ask your local British Car Club. Or someone on this board that has a reamer might offer to do it.
