Has anyone upgraded to a spin on oil filter and are there any complications/adaptions to fitting these please? I'm looking at Moss 235-940 for the kit. Are the filters readily available too?
Thanks

This is an easy install and uses the hard pipe you have. You will need two new crushable washers for the banjo fitting at the adapter housing.
These kits had, (past tense hopefully) a potential interference in the height of the 'screw on' part (below) wherein not all spin on oil filters were compatible. If this interference remains the oil filter itself will jam tightly to the 'screw on' part and unscrew when you change the filter causing all manner of grief.
Check yours before installing it,
Lay a straightedge across the adapter and if the 'screw on' bit sits proud of the sealing flange then you will need to machine some thickness from this part. (below)
Ensure you use the lock tab as provided, a bit of a bugg*r to bend over unfortunately.
I show a premium Wix ™ filter.

Ian: The filter adapter was very easy to install. Just make sure the washer that has a flap gets bent over to hold the bolt so when you replace the filter the bolt does not come loose. The filter I have is a very popular model a Fram PH3600

I installed one of these recently. I would just say that when you bend over the locking washer make sure that it is not proud of the face of the nut otherwise your filter may catch on it and not be able to seal properly. The other thing that happened to me was that the copper washers on the banjo leaked - I substituted fibre washers which stopped the leaks.
