Some photos of badly worn wire wheel hubs and what they should like new, a common source of vibration and clunking sounds.

I though the clunk in the rear end was caused by the thrust washers. It sure wasn't!

The wire wheel hubs were making all of the noise. Have attached a couple of photos of new hubs and my badly worn old hubs.

the wire wheel hubs on my '67 ( banjo) B are looking to be in a similar state as these photos reveal. Regretfully, I think I will have to buy new wheels Dayton)as well as replace the hubs. Can anyone pass on their experience in replacing the hubs and what is entailed? My current wires look good but I'm thinking that brg painted new wires would be a good choice ( match the car color) ,. Any thoughts on getting green wires , or do I go to the body shop to spray over new silver painted wires? Anyone attempted to spray paint their wires?

Time to redo the photos of the bad hubs, even with cheaters they look blurry. Maybe if mine turn out to be bad, then I'll do it !
