Solved
Got some new front wheel bearings for the splined to bolt-on wheel conversion. Kit came with Exxon Mobil polyrex EM grease in packet, which I used. Pretty blue color.
As I'm out of grease for my 3oz grease gun, I figured I'd get a tube of that blue grease. Only available in the larger sizes. So I went to the Mobil website to see what alternatives are available in the small tube size.
Surprise, surprise ... that grease is for electric motors (that's the EM part). Now I get to pull and clean the bearings.
The moral being: Don't assume.

Hi Frank,
I use Molygrease, heavy duty, for all my greasing needs. I have a grease gun that accepts a cartridge, does all my nipples (zerks), wheel bearings, brake cable etc.

I have just been doing wheel bearings . ( not mg )..and my grease is that pretty blue colour !!
I had to go straight out to the garage and check mine...Penrite high temp..phew !
Funny how one can be triggered and self doubt even though you know to have been initially correct..LOLOLOL..

Polyrex em grease is recommended by most motor aNd pump manufacturers.... most that specify the grease will void the warranty iffin you don’t use it . I’ve been using it on all my bearings for 20 years and never had a grease related failure. This grease is rated for 80,000 hrs of continuous use. It looks just like you put it in when you repack your bearings every 5 years or so. Plus it’s the grease most all ntn bearings come packed with.

Now logically thinking about it...electric motors can rotate at massively greater revolutions than our wheel bearings and for sometimes indefinately...so one would think that it would be better than the normal high temp wheel bearing grease before breakdown ? Though they tend to use sealed bearings in motors..
Yes..correct about anecdotal..lolol

Bob-
Kendall EBL wheel bearing grease is for use on non-driven axles. That makes it adequate for use in applications such as trailer axles, but not for the driven axle of an MGB! Instead, try Castrol Pyroplex Red EP 2 Grease instead. It can even withstand the heat that is generated by disc brakes!

Ernie x2, cheap and cheerful
I use wheel bearing grease that I use for my sailboat boat trailer hubs. These trailer bearings see a much more harsh environment than the MGB.

I've been using AeroShell Grease #5. Fabulous specs: -20/+177 Deg C, heavy load condition rating, excellent water resistance, etc. AeroShell Grease 5 handles high temperatures from high rolling friction and hard braking which takes into account the 177 Deg C upper limit for this grade. It's overkill for an MGB, but operation is absolutely worry free.

Cheap as chips multipurpose grease is all road going MGB ever needs.
You can convince yourself that something else will work better or last longer but you'd be completely wrong.
