Began the day driving the Grampian Grey BGT to the British Motor Cars of New England’s shop tour of TWS Motors in Taunton MA (pic - 1). A good turnout, but only one other LBC braved a questionable forecast. Thanks Woody, Jenna, Chris, Tyler, et al for hosting!
Afterwards, with some extra time, opted for the MA105 twisties (pic - 2), then encountered an early Old English White MGB roadster on Walnut Plain Rd in Rochester MA.
Finished the day’s drive with a stop at the very full Russells Mills’ millpond where the excess was rushing over the waterfall (pic - 3).
102 miles added to the odometer today. #drivennothidden
Cheers,
Rick

That is your car ? Very nice. It was a great group of folks who turned out. Ya, I’m one who didn’t drive a British sports car to the event. My 74 chrome number B is still a work in progress. Maybe ready in a month or so.
A couple photos from today.

Yesterday, seats both recovered (not in one day), driver's seat installed, cockpit trip installed, driver's side carpet, firewall and door panel with door cap. Passenger side next.
My goal is to finish passenger side and THEN THE NEW TOP to have the "B" ready for trailering to OUR new home in Missouri by May 15! Waiting for the warm Minnesota sun to stay out to warm up the new top for fitting.

We have an early spring and I've been driving the '74 daily -- our worst weather is gusty cold rain, that is, Abingdon meteorology, so no problem. The defroster and wipers work well.
My wife got a new hip on Tuesday, so I've been running all her errands and the car loves it. Just eight twisty mountain miles to the pharmacy and groceries, or twenty if we're feeling sporty.
It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
Retired ski bum, maintaining a fleet of old motorbikes in the mountains of Colorado. In the barn: '70 TR6R, '74 TA125, '74 Guzzi 850T, '74 MGB, '89 Guzzi Mille, '99 F650, '13 XT250.

Hey Dick,
Sorry that I must have missed chatting with you. If our paths don't cross before then, I hope to see you at the big British Motor Cars in Bristol gathering at Colt State Park on June 7-8!
Cheers,
Rick

Ordered a new brake booster for my 75.took 2 weeks to find one so I hope it fits. Taking the old one off today. This is my 4th MGB project. I have had 2 72’s and this is my second 75. Bought it out of Atlanta and probably got burned for about 5,000. Hope you get yours in running shape for spring. Whenever I take mine out I start out with a five mile run, then 10, etc until I feel confident in her. Good luck and if I can be of any help please let me know.

Fitted a new fuel gauge after the original one became erratic - after about 60 years service! Got the period correct one from Rimmers, the old one was apparently for the early "pull handle" B.
I'm impressed that they're still making new gauges in the UK.

Looks great ! Good to have a reliable fuel gauge. Interesting how the new one has half of the needle covered, whereas the old one has the needle fully exposed.

Yes, the old one always looked a bit amateurish compared to the other gauges.

Cleaned up the ash tray. Lid pins were missing on 1 side so I deleted the pins from other side and deleted the cigar rest. Primed it, will paint it black and install it without the lid.
I ordered this USB Charging port which I plan to install in place of the cigar lighter. [Upgraded Version] 12V USB Outlet Qidoe 78W 3 Port USB C 12V Outlet Dual PD 30W & 18W USB A Port with Voltmeter Lengthened Aluminum Body Switch Waterproof USB Car Charger Socket for Car Boat Marine RV https://a.co/d/21tEQbV
I may have to enlarge the cigar lighter hole in the console.
I also ordered LED light strips and LED On/Off + Flashing controller. Plan to install 1 strip on inside area of each wheel well. One strip in trunk, tied to trunk lid light switch. Another set of LED lights will be mounted in the engine bay with an on/off switch. The strobe feature may come in handy as an emergency flasher should I need it.

Took out Betsy for the first time this year due to our lovely weather. Here’s how it went. Connected the neg on battery, left in car for winter with a charge given a few weeks ago. Turn the key to on, pump ticking away. Turned the engine over 5 seconds or so. Then ignition to on , no ticking from pump. Pulled out the choke and started right up. Gradually pushed the choke back and brought it around to the front. Quick buff. Checked oil and went for a 40 mile drive. No issues at all. Love it when that happens. Next is Black Beauty tomorrow. Hope it goes as well.

Added the new USB power ports in place of the cigar lighter. I did have to enlarge the opening in the console a bit using my Dremel tool with sanding bit.
Also purchased a 18” x 6” sheet of aluminum and cut it to size and the new lower portion of my heater box cover. I previously separated the cover from the L bracket, cut the cover below the top L bracket line. The aluminum plate will be bolted to the lower part of the cover and slipped into place in behind the lower piece which was left in place when the cover was cut.
Called radiator shop, they haven’t started the rehab of my radiator or heater core. Says it will be ready Friday.
