At the risk of going off point... , the photo of the MG parked on bridge would appear to have been taken in Toronto. The bridge crosses the Don River by Bayview & Don Mills, and is now part of the Taylor Creek Park.

Gotta love the MGE......where else can you get anatomy, geography, and history lessons all in one single thread?!

Tim...long time ago when you first asked me for that, I put the brochure aside to copy for you and have never been able to find it since. I may still have it but it is a mystery for now.

Law of Logical Argument - Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.

"Anyone with an intense emotional interest in a subject loses the ability to observe it objectively: You selectively perceive events. You ignore data and facts that disagree with your main philosophy. Even your memory works to fool you, as you selectively retain what you believe in, and subtly mask any memories that might conflict."

No worries, Lloyd. I appreciate that you've kept me in mind.

I see some talk on the forum since the new year about potential new forums (garage tech) and some other suggestions. I wonder if it warrants consideration to to archive these old brochure scans and other historical photos, either here on this site or another free image hosting service. I find these documents to be a fascinating glimpse into the past and definitely worth preserving and sharing.

I hope you continue to post more of these!

Cheers,

Tim

Here is a pre-release shot of the MGC. Same hillside location above Abingdon that the pre-release MGB photos were taken.

My cousins, a father and son duo, who are heavily into Triumph TRs, are always razzing me that MGs are 'girl's cars'. And each time I view a thread like this, it chips away at my case...

Although, I will admit, I get more smiles of acknowledgement from women when I'm in my Pale Primrose '73 B, than when I'm in one of their TRs.

If I may add some useful information, I think most English people reading this thread will agree with me that the second photo on the first post shows the Norfolk Broads.

I really like the looks of that MGC GT with the steel wheels. That's something you never see. I guess most Cs came with wires, and the ones that didn't have been fitted with Minilite style alloys....

Well,
TR's are truly tractors so it would take a rough and tumble guy to like something so crude. I spent my teen years growing up in rock and roll bands with an Iris MGB roadster so I wouldn't worry about other people's concerns of manhood!

Mine's been like that since it was new. The doors have never been off so that's the way they came, I guess.
