Wanted to share these pics of the body dolly that I made (thanks to Peter Ryle for sharing).
Here is the cut list that I used:
- Use 2x4s for the main frame
- Use 2x6s for the top planks that the sills sit on
- Cut 4 x 56 inch lengths of 2x4 for the side members (2 @ 10')
- Cut 4 x 48 inch lengths of 2x4 for the cross pieces (2 @ 8')
- Cut 8 x 12 inch lengths of 2x4 for the vertical supports (1 @ 8')
- Cut 2 x 56 inch lengths of 2x6 for the top planks (1 @ 10')
- The cross pieces are placed inside the 56 inch side members
- Assemble top and bottom frames of dolly using screws
- Brace the corners of the bottom frame with triangles of 1/2 inch plywood
- The vertical supports are attached to the top and bottom frames of the dolly at the side members
- Attach the two 2x6 planks (56 inches long) with screws onto the top of the sides of the dolly for the bottom edges of the sills to rest on
- Attach 4" casters (I used two fixed and two rotating casters)
Worked out beautifully, wouldn't change a thing.
Now on to the frame for disassembly and cleaning!!

Exactly. Went from rotisserie, to dolly, to paint. Well worth the effort for a first rate job, Makes everything so much easier to move, transport and paint. Mine was designed to be painted on. Highly recommended for everybody partaking in such work. Good Luck.

Neat.....very nice. And in case there's a need, I picked up a tip (see pic) on how to roll a car around if the steel wheels are neither available nor desirable:

Will do Peter and thanks again! All the credit goes to you for a great design and for sharing it with me. I hope you don't mind me sharing it with others here.
No problem - glad to have been of assistance. Peter

You can finish the build on the dolly.
