This car ran in the '65 Le Mans with the snoop nose. However in its current restored version it has a normal hood and front end. There are some reports i have seen that indicate it raced without the snoop on later occasions. Oddly there is a photo from the 1965 Sebring 12 hour of a car with the normal front but with the licence plate DRX256CCan anybody throw any light on this?

I understand that the MG racing team had one snoop nose made up, which was used on different cars. Evidently DRX255C raced without the nose in later events.

okay, I may be posing a stupid question here. maybe pointless considering DRX is a prototype MGB. but I cannot find another answer on my own. DRX255C is an early 1965 car. In the photo of DRX's boot area, the mount for a trunk light switch is clearly visible in the upper right-hand corner of the weather stripping. trunk lights and the respective switches were not introduced until 1971. I am aware that the car was involved in a major accident at LeMans classic in 2002 that required a few new aluminum panels to be made. But even considering panels being remade from a donor car, that mount should not be there?
