With a name like 'Lucas'...?

Most of these work by softening & swelling rubber oil seals. So they may work for a while* but eventually the leak gets worse.

* long enough to sell the car and cash the sucker's check...

Old school was to add brake fluid to swell the old seals. They had a interview with the owner in AutoWeek a while ago, very successful business man with good gorilla marketing. I don't/won't use the stuff.

I personally prefer STP Smoke Treatment, which can be added at any time, while Lucas, I believe, specifically states that it should be used during an oil change, replacing one quart.

STP. Stay Together Please. All of these "miracle" fixes are strictly temporary. RAY

Only one way to stop oil leaks and that's changing the seals and even that doesn't last forever.

Jerard, I racked up quite a few miles on my '67 B in Middletown before I moved to California back in '95. It has some truly great back roads. I wish that I had my supercharger on my car back then. RAY

Tried it on an old '63 ford falcon I once had and yes it works well, stopped it right up but as a few folks have said, it's only temporary.

The falcon had 200000 miles on the motor, almost zero compression and my dirt poor 19 year old self just wanted it to stop wrecking my driveway.

In a pinch it works, but wouldn't use it now on my 'B

A lot of classic oils already contain seal swelling additives as standard.
