Let me try. New owner saw car requested work. In other words new owner specced the car. "Flipper" just did what new spec owner requested. Flipper reuested 50% up front to do spec work.

I dont really have any issues with this. If new owner bought car and had work done it would be a similar amount. 2k in labor seems reasonable. I wouldnt have done it but many would. Life goes on in MGB land.

Grammar and spelling made it a challenge to figure out.

The goal - Reliable summer driver interspersed with mechanical tinkering...
Motto - "Driving fifty in the twisties..."
On Mods - It's your damn car - Do what you want. Haters gonna hate...
On SUVs - Drive your B like a soccer mom is texting her friends about how she wants to kill you...

I can go out on any day and buy a 9K MGB and turn 3K profit with no more work than an inspection.
Seems like you are missing some skills. LOLeye rolling smiley as well as the point.
And it won't be an overpriced dressed up late model.
We've yet to see a picture of this outstanding MGB that you took from a bargain beater and made to walk on water, Apparently.

I will be 60 in October. I have been doing the flipping and used car stuff since I was 16.
The funny thing is, there is more money to be made taking the cars apart rather than putting them together.
I was taught if you take good cars apart you will have good parts to sell.

The project that I have been working on ended last Friday.
I got a call today from someone asking if I could re-pipe their house for a little cheaper than the 8k they were quoted.
That works out to about 2k per day.
The money is not in flipping cars.

I'd suggest you pay up to $15K for a 75 TR6 needing the work you describe. Please let us know how that deal works out for you....flipping Bs knowing nothing about them and making money is just possible as they are a simple, well built, well engineered car.

TR6s not so much.....after that I'd suggest you branch out into Jaguar E types and Alfas.
Have fun!

You paid $5700 for a TR6 that needs paint, an interior and a transmission. Looks good on you. Just so you know it will also need so, so much more. You have no concept of how far upside down you will be in that little project.

Do you do this for a living or are Mommy and Daddy subsidizing your little delusions?

There are a lot more cars than buyers where I live.
It took the flipper that bought mine about two years to sell it.

Your right always tuff to sell . But learned early car guys are not sales guys car guys take it to personal that's obvious on this forum mg owners take this car flipping the wrong way funny really. Almost jealous mg owners cry how there car isn't worth that much but won't sell them , what does that mean ,
