Anyone have engineering drawings of the adapters needed to spin balance wire wheels? I know that they are available for purchase in England, but would like to make them myself.

Thanks in advance,
Jerry

I made one using a hub and a knock off with a hole in it. I had a machine shop cut the hole exactly in the center and bevel the top edge. The wheel and balancer are then mounted in the machine and it is centered. This is the same method as Hendrix Wire Wheel uses.

Hi

I live in Greensboro area, I have been reading the forums looking for anyone close who commented about balancing wire wheels. I have a midget and bought new tires and new wheels. Looking for someone to mount and balance. Called 3 shops and no luck. You have any suggestions?

Thanks
Matt

Wasn't there a posting where one of our MGE guys bought a kit for balancing from the UK? I've been trying to find the post for s few weeks now without any luck.

I purchased a kit from Bob Peacock a while ago. It cost about £100 plus postage.

Dang Eric , what would you have to do to get a Thank You.
I've used a old bubble balance one for years. Making sure the wheel is not whapped would be my first check.

Hi

I spent hours calling different places and stopping by their shops to show them the wheels and everyone said too small and can't deal with it. I went to a TireMax 10 min from my house ( last place I thought about) guy looked at and explained how it must be done exactly as described from MWS wheel company ( and Moss write up) and he has all the required adapters. I pick them up today, I'll see what he says and how much weight he ended up using. BTW, Hendrix quoted me $500 to mount 4 tires on my 4 brand new rims.

Thanks
Matt

Sounds like a plan. I sent you a PM but it appears you have it handled..
How much did they charge you per wheel. I may spring for new White Wall tires for Christmas.

Wow! Allen must not want the work. In 2013 I bought four wire wheels from Hendrix & had new tires shipped directly to Hendrix. I don't recall the charge for mounting & balance (plus shaving to true) but it was no where near that amount.
