Gary, did that and couldn't find anything. Can you find anything? I just need the correct way of feeding the clear end through etc.

This is the one I was thinking of. Barney says there is only one ring clamp and 3 of the large p clips but no pics. Some one else may chime in with pics.

I'm not understanding the question. Do you mean the air ducts from behind the grill to the heater?

Gary,

Sorry. You lost me too. I do not understand your question.

"how the clamps should be finished off . . .step by step"?

Here's a picture of the clamp installed:

There should be one 4-inch band clamp securing the air hose onto the heater inlet duct. This is thin steel strap with a "buckle" at one end. There is a wind-up pin that looks like a split pin (cotter pin to us yanks). Insert the end of the thin metal band through the slot in the split pin, and wind it up to take up the slack and tighten the band onto the hose (like the wind-off key on the old sardine cans or coffee cans, if you are old enough to remember those).

Gary,

As Barney mentioned and per factory original installation, there is only one heater duct clamp located in the picture that I provided, However, it is common to see up to four such clamps in the engine bay area.

The clamp has one end that looks like a modified cotter pin with a slot going through it. The end of the flat strap portion is fed through the slot and then with an awl through the cotter or pliers, you rotate the cotter and it will take up the slack in the strap.

Gary,

Getting picky in your old age. The clamps are not related to rocket science. LOL.

Only one is used, on the heater box inlet.

Peter.

Peter, thought there were four. One on the fresh air from grill heater pipe where it clamps to the pipe/duct, and one on each end of the pipe after the duct to heater unit. Then there is one on the upper end of the grill to carby pipe.

Gary,
The top of the short tube that goes from the grill to the radiator duct panel is held in place with a self tapping screw. Look for a hole in the duct panel tube to show where it goes. The fronts of the tubes are held by a large P-clip. The longer heater inlet pipe has a P-clip mid way along and an adjustable band at the heater. That makes 3 large P-clips and one adjustable band clamp. I haven't seen a clip at the front of the longer pipe.

Mark, it was only the Australian assembled cars that had the self tapper there apparently.

Clausagers book shows several cars with four of the adjustable clamps.

Gary,
That would explain why my 1600 has a self tapper and there is no hole on my coupe.

The SPL doesn't show any extra clips so it is likely that the extras shown in Clausager are added later.
