I am getting blueB back together, taking me a lot longer than expected, mainly because of little things I find as i go that need attention. My current question. I am reinstalling the windshield. this is not the usual question about how to install the windshield to cowl seal, I used MacGregor's seal and silicone spray and it went back right on with very little effort.

Now, in getting the windshield back in place I ran into a question. which goes over which? does the windshield to cowl seal go over the pillar seal on the sides or vice versa? blueB is a 77, I have another 77, a 78, a 75, and a 72 B. I am at 50/50. half have the pillar seal over the cowl seal, half the cowl seal over the pillar seal. Which is it? or does it matter once it is bolted down and sealed?

Here. #5 rivets (#7) to #13 then #4 slides in. Many of us do not bother trying to fit #6 - there was another discussion about this earlier this month - as it's tricky. #13 won't move if #6 is left off.

Mk1: CKD 11/66 first registered 8/5/67; owned since 3/77. 18GB +40 balanced. Peter Burgess BVFR head. Piper 285. 123. FidanzaFW. 4synch c/r box. Lots more as I did a nut and bolt rebuild; finished 2015. Tartan Red.

GT: December '78. VW Golf guards, flush fit front and rear valances. Torana XU1 vents, frenched indicators & Mk1 rear lights. 'Worked' Rover V8 with Monsoon ECU for EFI. GM4L60E, Lokar tiptronic & Quick4 controller. Vintage Air A/C. FC IFS. CCE 4 link rear. Salisbury with Quaife. Jaguar Storm.

I was not clear enough, I am looking for how #3 laps over or is lapped over by #2.

The pillar seal goes onto the pillar last before the windscreen is seated into the cowl. So the cowl seal is now sandwiched between the bottom windshield frame and the pillar seal.

That’s how the pieces were when I disassembled my windscreen which was never removed before so that was the way the factory assembled the windscreen!
