loose windscrene screw

The top screw on the side of my windscrene frame ('51 TD) will not screw in. It is not stripped, it just has not purchase. Can anyone tell me what is going on and what I can do? Thank you, William

If it is not too short, then a dab of threadlocker should put it right.

It is quite possible that the thread is not opposite, it may not be perpendicular to the jamb.
And the brackets may not have been fitted correctly. It's quite difficult to adjust.
I just replaced my windshield a month ago. A real pain.

Be careful, don't use a longer screw!
You risk pressing on the thickness of the glass and breaking it.
