I had to change the battery on my 1996 MGF and have been unable to start the car. I read somewhere that there is a way to permanently disable the system so that it is never a problem again. Does anyone know where I can find these directions along with a scematic. Thanks. Paul

If you have Roger Parker's book Everyday modifications, he talks about adding the later TF transponder, with is a coil that mounts around the ignition key barrel and wire it into the 5AS unit. When the key is in the ignition, the transponder senses the fob and disables the ignition interlock.
