Wire Wheel Hubs: Replacement Order

Started the replacement of all my wire wheel splined hubs to match new wire wheels. RR seemed to have the most wear, replaced that already. LR did not seem too bad, unlike the RR. Thinking of go RF, LF, and LR in that order. Reason going with the right side first, seems like that's the side that will spin the nuts off in a spun situation? Had it happen in the 80s on a TR250 and a Spitfire. Seems like only the right side will do that. No clunks at the moment, not worried about a spun hub and wheel at the moment, just dont want to prematurely wear out the new wire wheels. Hubs arent the cheapest, so will take me a few months to do them all. Truth be known, probably wont cover a whole lot of miles in the mean time!

On a 67, the knock-offs are handed. To undo them, they are opposite of the way the wheel turns. On my 66, which I have knock-offs, they have an undo and an arrow to show the correct way to undo them. I have not seen a newer car, but I believe that the factory continued to use the handed knock-offs to the end of production in 1980. Other manufacturers used the same knock-offs on all four corners, but not MG.

I’ve never seen a car use the same knock-off at all four corners….I believe they are always handed. For that matter, even some lug nuts are handed on older cars.
For the OP, I’m not sure I understand the ‘staged’ approach to replacing the hubs. Why would you expose your new wheel splines to used hubs even for a while, if your ultimate goal is to replace them for the good of your new wheels?

Only the RR one had any real wear. New wheels and used hubs long term is not the ideal combo for longevity. I do not have any clunks or noise. Want them to outlive me! Only reason for the staged approach is 2 reasons: hubs are not the cheapest parts, and my time is limited to work on the car.
