My time over the last 3 to 4 weeks has been spent adding a Rapidchange ATC automatic tool changer to my 4x8 CNC router. Commercial and industrial automatic tool changers cost many thousands of dollars in components to put together. This clever invention by a fellow in Michigan can be put on an existing CNC that does not have automatic tool change for as little as $400.

I've got it up and running now but still have some details to work out. Primarily the dust skirt was in a fixed position before and so has to be off the machine for now as it interferes with the tool rack. I have to come up with a retraction system so it can be in place while cutting but out of the way when doing a tool change.

Here is the website for Rapidchange ATC: https://rapidchangeatc.com/

Here is a video of my installation doing tool changes:

What interesting stuff have you all been doing lately?

This is more in the not being worked on.
When it warms up it will get a black paint job.
I am going to use an inflatable booth.
It has a Targetmaster 350 and some mis-matched parts.
I am going to build a 408 inch small block with a race prepared quadrajet and Brodix heads. Make it appear stock.

Painted kitchen, replaced appliances, replaced some damaged flooring from a water supply leak behind the fridge, painted the family room, installed recessed lighting in the bedroom, installed a new pendant fixture over the breakfast bar, installed 15’ of metal ducting and wired in a pressure switch to turn the dryer vent booster fan on when the dryer is running, and hauled 5 trailer loads of bark mulch and hand spread it in the front landscaping. Trying to get some home stuff done before I get to the Spring tuneup on my GT and subsequent nice weather drives.

I was addicted to the hokey pokey but I turned myself around.
