Solved
I'm rebuilding the Weber carb for my '76 MGB. I made the mistake of pulling everything apart without making note of a few of the bits, so now I have to see if anybody can answer a quick question. Here's the link to the exploded view of the carb:

https://www.mgexp.com/article/images/weber-32-36-DGEV.jpg

Item number 32 is the pump loading spring,
Item number 53 is the diaphragm loading spring.

They're both similar in size but one is quite stiffer than the other. Which one is which?

Asking with great embarrassment ...

Vincent Meyer

Before someone says I 'll be right along to answer your question... I don't recall which is which and i do not have one on the bench to check.

Someone else will remember though.

I hate failing a test!

So after knocking around on the internet, I came across the website for Carbs Unlimited https://www.carburetion.com.

On their site they say:

We Do Not Sell rebuilt or remanufactured Carbs.
We recomend using this Rebuild Shop for rebuilt Carbs
Call 253-833-7573 for pricing and availibility.

I called the number, and the person who answered knew EXACTLY what I meant, and I'm guessing I am not the first person to get the two springs mixed up. SO.. If you should get your Weber 32/36 apart and forget which spring is which, the stiffer spring is the accelerator pump spring. The lighter spring is the choke return spring.
