Wendel: The custom valve cover for my '58 ZB did not have a breather hole for the vent to the air filter housing. So, I drilled and tapped a hole for a fitting that uses a 7/8 open end wrench with a barred fitting for the rubber hose. I put silicone on the male threads of the aluminum anodize fitting from the local Ace Hardware store. It was back in Oct, 2021 so I have forgotten the size of the drill bit and thread size.

Jim: Thanks for the photos. Nice solution. In order to avoid the ribs on top, I was thinking of tapping the cover on the side as far up as possible and use and elbow fitting of some type. For now, I think I'll just keep the original valve cover on and ruminate some more on the issue. Thanks again.

On my MGA and about to be repeated on my recently purchased ZB I opted go from the side using a brass straight bottle gas fitting, drilled with a "cone" variable drill and then let it "Self Tap" removed and added a touch of oil proof gasket paste. prior to drilling marked with masking tape on the head then checked to ensure the hole would sit BETWEEN valves etc and at a height that was square to the Air Filter fitting - if I cant get the same fitting I will use a threaded chrome "Nitro" air hose fitting as fits pipe nicely - will post pic when near the car again
