Today 25 April Australians and New Zealanders commemorate/celebrate ANZAC day. Remembrance activities are held throughout the country and two major dawn ceremonies at Gallipoli (Turkey) and Villers-Bretonneux (France).
One year ago I was at Villers-Bretonneux - hard to believe how quickly 12 months have gone.

We went to the dawn ceremony at Point Danger, in Torquay. It supposedly is the last bit of Australia the soldiers saw, as their ship headed overseas.
A very moving ceremony, lasting from 5:45 till about 7 am, i.e. dawn.
A very huge crowd, with all ages from littlies up to geriatrics, like me.
In the past a deceased mate of mine would lead a fly over in his tiger moth, with two others.
Lest We Forget.
