Very pretty! Our Dogwood...
Your spring in Connecticut must come surprisingly later than here. Our Daffodils start blooming in late February and peak in early to mid March. All there is now is drooping foliage that's beginning to turn brown!

This is my favorite time of year. We have (eg yesterday) days when the temperature reaches 75, there are new green leaves on trees and bushes and a few flowers. But there are few flying insects, just a few bees and wasps. So it is lovely to siting the garden or take a walk in the country.

When I was transferred from Germany to England (East Anglia), in June 0f 1973, we were lucky enough to have other American friends already living there. When we visited our friends soon after our arrival, we didn't know how to react when our friends noticed that the sun had come out and they quickly grabbed lawn furniture, went outside and sat in their unshaded lawn facing the sun!
For someone who had grown up in the U.S. south, we found the behavior peculiar, to say the least. After living there for a couple of years, we understood and often reacted similarly.
