Solved
For those who have installed the Rivergate conversion have you ever lost your speedometer? I have checked and the cable and speedometer work. I am down too the right angle speedometer adapter and the speedometer pinion gear assembly in the 260Z transmission. I can't get the too apart so I may be buy both any way.

If anyone else has this issue is it usually the pinion gear or the right angle adapter. The external gear shows no sign of wear on the pinion.

had that problem some yrs ago, iirc turned out to be the goofy shaped cable connection , orm parts NLA - i FOUND & created a workaround fix , will post more info & pics if i have em , later when i get to my PC

here ya go

1. twisted off connector -

2. fixit parts & process - note how the ZX tang is twisted off compared to pic of new part - drill it out & insert a new fixit tang

I got my speedometer working again. I found out that Rivergate still has the rod that connects the right angle adapter to the transmission pinion gear. I was lucky because they no longer can get that right angle adapter. They are in the process of developing a replacement speedometer cable which will eliminate the right angle adapter.
