Hello Folks:

I am bouncing over from the Triumph Forums to see if you can help Identify a Ring and Pinion for me.

I purchased this a year ago as a Triumph TR4 part, but just set it aside becuase I didn't need it at the time.

When did get around to opening it up I noticed it was MOWOG Part number, obviously not a Ttiumph part. The P/N Is: Mowog -ATC7375-10/48

Can you good folks help me identify what vehicle this goes to?

Thank you so much.

Rod

My guess is the 10/48 refers to the gear ratio. There is a (rare?) MG differential ratio of 4.88:1. I don't know if that's what you have however. Could it be from a Spridget?

The most common MGA ratio is 10/43 (4.3:1), the most common MGB ratio is 11/43 (3.9:1).

Tying in the atc7375 number I get one for sale on eBay. the seller says:

Quote: Info on this particular part has been extremely hard to come by but based on our research we can say that is is probably meant for the larger "C" cars under the BMC umbrella such as Wosley, Riley, Austin Westminster and Austin Healey. It may also be meant for something like a Gypsy van.

I cannot vouge for the accuracy. The matching pinion is ATC7376. It is definitely a 4.8 ratio set. You can verify that by counting the teeth.

ATC7374 ring & pinion set contains ATC7375 & ATC7376, it fits the Leyland C series 5 stud axle as found fitted to the Leyland Sherpa Van
Earlier vehicles which use a similar axle were big Austin Healey, Austin Westminster & Wolseley 6/110
