Hello everyone,
I need to replace the motor/transmission mounts on my TF.
I would like to do this myself.
Question 1:
Can the motor mount be replaced without removing the radiator/fender/sides?
Have any of you tried this on a TF?
Question 2:
Is there a better source of replacement mounts?
I appreciate any feedback.

Jermier,
It can be done, but it's not easy.
First, you need to lift the engine to release the V bracket attached to the timing plate (bottom left with the rope) and allow the engine mount to be unbolted.
Note that the engine block above the clutch will put a lot of pressure on the firewall (on the right in the 2nd photo).
You can see that I've put a carpet on the front crossmember to allow the engine to slide.
I had to lift the assembly again to free the oil pump, and I had to unbolt the rubber engine mount.
In your case, I wonder if it wouldn't be easier to detach the gearbox from the engine, lift the engine to deal with the engine mount, and lift the gearbox to release the two rubbers and replace them.
Sincerely, Thierry from Ardèche, South of France
