We are working our way the disassembly of MG-TA engine and find a pivotting ball bearing where a spigot bushing would be on a later MG. We are wondering if someone might be able to help ou with a source and part number for a part like that?
Thanks for any help you can provide, Bob Burton

Bob:
Bearing in appications like that tend to be standard sizes. Measure the ID, OD and width and see if there is a bearing supply store in your area. They should be able to help.

The bearing is a standard imperial size. MG Octagon car club sell them with the release bearing. Just measure the size and buy them from a bearing supplier. When refitting, insert the bearing in the flywheel first and then fit the carrier. If you fit it on the carrier first it will break when you press the assembly into the flywheel. Don’t ask me why I know!!!

IME, bearing information has usually been stamped on the bearing and proven enough when forwarded to a supplier to ensure proper fitment.
