Is this car still around? Probably not.

If anyone is trying to rebuild a car - one lacking a plate- here is your chance.

This is not my EBay listing.

got to ask...

what would be the point of buying a tag from a different car, are they collectable?

To me, it is unethical to represent a car as something other than what it was originally. That being said, sometimes someone is building up a special variant of some type and they need a plate in order to register the vehicle.

My hope is that the actual car is out there - but chances are slim.

Maybe I’ll just report it to the custodian of the Merson TD list as an orphaned ID plate.

It's from a parts dealer, so it was probably stripped for parts. There's also another RHD TD on eBay from a UK vendor, with an interestingly re-stamped engine number.
