Darn it!
I needed to replace the clutch cable on a friend’s TD, and when it arrived, it seemed well made. When I went to install it, I discovered that the clevis fitting for the clutch pedal clevis pin was so large it will not fit through the opening in the pedal box.
I contacted Jason at Abingdon Spares, and he was unaware of that problem, but was very responsive and said that he would find a proper replacement and have it shipped directly to me.
I have found Abingdon Spares to be excellent in their customer service. It is rare these days to be able to call a business and have a human being actually answer the phone. Jason has, on several occasions, personally checked on parts in stock to ensure fit and condition. He has also gone out of his way to address any problems that arise.
I just wanted to pass along a notice about the manufacturing error on the clutch cable, but I also want to commend Jason and Abingdon Spares for the excellent customer service.
I could have ground down the cable end, but I wanted to make sure that the distributor knew of the issue - so that they can provide the feedback to the supplier. Not everyone has a bench grinder to address such issues.
I didn't feel that converting to the later clutch rod was appropriate for this particular car - as all other items are correct for its place in the production time frame.

I could spend some time doing that, but I would rather not. I’m interested in seeing how the replacement part is made.

No problem Lew. Thanks for responding with the suggestion.
I also have a reproduction tachometer reduction gearbox that will not fit in the generator armature slot. So that will give me something to fiddle with!

I have no idea where this replacement came from for the TD1250 as the owner provided it. It looks like the manufactures solution to the issue was to bevel the edges.
