My new aftermarket door hinges were very stiff as they were on the shelf for many years and had rust. on the pins.
I tried many penetrating oils including 50 % 50 mix of ATF and Acetone.
After many hours and still very stiff (Only slightly better) I used Wurth HHS Plus. BINGO! In a few minutes the rust started flowing out of the hinges.
I now stock Wurth products.

Odd that they did not use stainless steel pins.

New hinges are terrible. Their stiffness puts a lot of rotational stress on the hinge pillar and door.

It’s probably not the hinge pins. The leaf fingers fit together very tightly in new repro hinges which makes them very stiff. The pins and holes are less than the standard 1/4” diam. The pins are staked to the bottom edge of the hinge.

It takes some effort to free them.

Cut off the tip of the pin and drive it out out the bottom of the hinge. Ream the hinge body and install 1/4” stainless pins. Relieve the tight fit between the “fingers.”

That’s why I used my old hinges.

See if you can repair and reuse your original hinges.

There have been many versions of repro hinges over the years, none exactly right. Difficult to make as well. There should be no binding of course.
