I rebuilt my SU H4s for my 1622 engine. I am looking for a starting setting for the mixture nut. How many flats down should I start out with?
Any thoughts?
Just trying to avoid an initial setting that is too much or too lean to start out.
Just want a good starting point.
Thanks, Wes

12 flats should be a good starting point.

I will need to check but when I set mine I think the starting point for the depth of the jet tube is 065” below flush with the bridge. From there it was only a flat or two to get optimum hot setting.

Oh and make sure the tube is fully up with the choke off, they can stick a bit.
