I ran into Martin MacGregor at his booth at the Ancaster British Car Flea Market, lots of LBCs and at least 1,000 other cars. He says hello to everyone, and is very busy, with 26 voicemails waiting at home, probably all with orders. He WILL get back to you, and it's worth the wait. I've installed his roadster door seals, and the other seals are on the shelf in their pizza boxes, ready to use when needed. No affiliation, just a happy customer for about 30 years.

I have repeatedly told businesses owners that word of mouth is the most effective advertising campaign ever developed. But it works both ways. Make a happy customer and they will tell a few people. Do a bad job and the same people will tell everyone they come into contact with. The quality of customer support in my opinion has fallen off the shelf.

I don't know how old Martin is, but I hope he has set up way to continue his business when he is gone. Todd Clarke didn't have something set up and it's sad that after all his work and passion put in to his business has vaporized with his death.

I am hopefully finishing up with blueB. Seals are going in place and all are working as he said they should. My two phone conversations with him were invaluable.
Put on the windshield to cowl seal yesterday. No problem at all. I just used silicone spray and it literally slipped in with what I thought was the right amount of resistance. About a 15 minute job

Martin worked at the MG facility in the day so you can figure out age.
As to passing on his homegrown knowledge, good judgement and overall market savvy, will be difficult and shouldn't be expected?
Todd, Martin, Dave Dubois and many others are a group of special individuals that choose to go above and beyond to serve the community.
Sadly modern society isn't built this way, prepare for less being more.

Life's most persistent and urgent question is, "What are you doing for others?"

I too met Martin at Ancaster on Sunday, what a great guy.
Bought a T shirt at his booth emblazoned with a play on the "Apocalypse Now" phrase by the Robert Duvall character, "I love the smell of napalm in the morning"
Martin's T shirts said " I love the smell of emissions in the morning" with a likeness of the Duvall character and the MG logo.

Ben let me preface my reply by explaining I am stupid.
I have 2 or 3 project cars that I am actively working on. And three more in wait.
With the exception of my seat covers my MGB is in good shape I am the only one who notices its shortcomings.
The good news is that I think I have found an upholstery shop I can work with. I want my seat padded to fit me and a heater installed.
My car funds fluctuates wildly also.
