Does anyone have experience with the replacing MGC body panels? The ones in question are the the left hand inner and outer sill, the rocker panel and any other needed areas. Possibly the left floor. Are these the same as the MGB sheet metal or are they different? I am considering a project and want to know what I am getting into.... lol
Thanks

From the front of the car through to the firewall (firewall is the same as a Mk 2 B) and all the floor structure in the cockpit are different to the MGB structures. This is due to the stiffer structure but thinner cross member needed for the bigger engine and the decision to use torsion bar front suspension instead of double wisbone coils.
brief list:

Inner sills are slightly different but can be easily fettled from MGB replacements.
The floor panels are totally different but there after market replacements available
Underfloor structure is totally different with large triangular anchor brackets for the torsion brackets, again after market replacements are available
Scuttle panels at the top of the Dash are the same as Mk 2 B
A posts and firewall are the same as the Mk2 B
Cockpit side walls forward of the A posts are the same as the Mk2 B
Triangular reinforcing panels are different
Transmission tunnel is slightly different to Mk2 B due to the higher mounted floors and two captive thread blocks at the back for the rear gearbox mount
all inner structures forward of the firewall that I haven't mentioned are different and replacements are not available although some parts, such as the top front wing supports with the rows of captive nuts can be fettled from MGB repair panels.
The body is the same as the MGB body from the B post back except for the battery cages which are deeper than MGB ones.

Other parts that come to mind is the rear gearbox cross member is different (short piece spanning the gearbox tunnel only) and the seats (shallower frames under the base to compensate for the higher floors)

the replacement aftermarket panels can be found here:

Oh yeah!

Check out this thread https://www.mgexp.com/forum/mgc-forum.48/lower-control-arm-fulcrum-bushing-and-body.4646750/ for details and pics.

Tom sums it up pretty well and I was able to use MGB outer sills, the inner vertical support panel and bottom sill member. The bottom sill member will require modification at the jacking point and I believe that I have pics of that in the thread.

Not to discourage you from taking the project on, but the rust is probably worse than what it appears from the outside. Just plan for the worst and if it's not as bad then you'll be pleasantly surprised! IMO it's worth it because it's a MGC, or at least that's what I keep telling myself. LOL

For rust you need to use the ice berg principle. You only see 10%???
