Has anyone been able to find and verify a 2 pack base coat-clear coat formulation for Monza Red paint?
From Barney's site this colour is also know as Carnation Red and had a Dulux code of 09864, the colour is a dark red/maroon.
I've tried 2 local paint suppliers so far and the best information that I can get is that they can colour match it by eye to an existing sample, my experience is that this method does not provide a completely correct colour.
One of the suppliers was able to obtain a formulation for the colour in 2K paint but said that they wouldn't recommend the 2K system for this colour as the paint wouldn't have very good UV protection due to the lack of lead in the paint, apparently the clear coat is required to provide UV protection.

Here in Perth I've used a firm that will use a scanner and it's BLOODY GOOD - I had a 2 tone Royal Enfield tank scanned (paint was as new) for a JZR Trike I built painted in the same cream & maroon. Just had a Kit Car GRP panel scanned to paint some bits that were just in white Gellcoat, and our President took the boot lid and had the inside of the bootlid scanned for a full car respray. - his car was a factory colour but couldn't find it anywhere - maybe gett scans at 2-3 different places?
