Excess oil from that tube means only one thing for sure.
The steel mesh that aids in condensing oil vapors located behind it is coked up. Take the cover off, clean or replace the steel mesh and reinstall sealing the cover well.

In all actuality you get less oil from that tube with the gauze completely missing than from a coked up oil condenser.

I agree with the above comment by Michael.
The other thing could be too much pressure in the lower end.
Can you post a picture of your engine bay? It would help to know what you are working with.

When diagnosing issues related to running and stalling, always check to see if you have gas in the tank first.

Do you also gets lots of air pushing out the valve cover oil fill hole? Put a piece of paper over it to see. A healthy engine with a functioning breather system will have very little air pushing out of the oil fill hole. Piston ring blow-by on a brand new or very used engine will be more significant.

I had the same issue and removed the tappet chest cover to find the inside completely gunked up as per the first couple of photos.

The mesh is behind the inner plate and hard (impossible?) to remove without cutting and rewelding but I found that by swilling it out with white spirit and with a bit of pressurised washing with a degreaser etc, it cleaned out fine.

The last photo shows it after cleaning and with my own "homemade" wider cork gasket. Many years on...no oil blowing up out of the pipe and no leaks from the gasket.

I'm working on exactly the same issue - burning oil and lots of oil in the PCV mushroom. My cover/separator is quite different , though, with no way to see what's inside it.
I soaked it in gasoline for several hours this afternoon, and now the gasoline runs out clear, so to me that means it is clean.
