After putting led bulbs in the dash I added them to my brake lights, turn signals etc. replaced both flasher units with led ones. Originally got a two prong flasher as that was what was in there and on the schematic. Didn’t work. Then I noticed a third wire. Two green, one green and brown. So I got a three prong grounded led flasher. Turn signals work great on the outside but on the dash it has both indicators flashing (aka hazard lights).

The led hazard circuit works fine. Turn signals worked fine when everything (dash and exterior) were filament bulbs. They were just hard to see with two settings, dim and dark.

Interesting. A brown wire goes to the hazard switch and not the turn signal switch. I am not knowledgeable with the later cars, but looking at the Autowire schematic (yours is way close to the bottom, on sheet 25) shows that the brown wire going to the hazard flasher.

There should be two flashers, one under the wiper motor in the passenger footwell for the turn signals, and the hazard flasher behind the console. According to the schematic, both flashers are two prong. My 66 used to have a three prong flasher, but I converted it to a two prong flasher. I do not have a hazard flasher.

Someone who has more experience with the newer car wiring should be along shortly for assistance with your dash signal light not flashing.

My schematic shows a two prong as well but there are three wires. And a two prong flasher does not work. Looks like the next step is to do some wire tracing perhaps..
