Hi all

I am refurbishing my front suspension and as I was unbolting the anti-roll bar I came across this bracket under the Strap anti-roll bracket. There is one per side.

I have seen them on a video but I cannot say what they are, what are there for, what are the two screws is has for, what was the cloth or some material it remains for... and I cannot find them in any description in the spare parts webs I sailed thru.

Anybody can tell me?

They hold the "cardboard" undershield on. See #36/41 here



Mk1: CKD 11/66 first registered 8/5/67; owned since 3/77. 18GB +40 balanced. Peter Burgess BVFR head. Piper 285. 123. FidanzaFW. 4synch c/r box. Lots more as I did a nut and bolt rebuild; finished 2015. Tartan Red.

GT: December '78. VW Golf guards, flush fit front and rear valances. Torana XU1 vents, frenched indicators & Mk1 rear lights. 'Worked' Rover V8 with Monsoon ECU for EFI. GM4L60E, Lokar tiptronic & Quick4 controller. Vintage Air A/C. FC IFS. CCE 4 link rear. Salisbury with Quaife. Jaguar Storm.

I replaced my cardboard flat tray, part 41in the diagram, with stainless steel. Really smartens up the front of the engine bay.

1978 MG MGB "Kermit"
Easy and inexpensive to make out of a sheet of aluminum (or aluminium, depending on where you live smiling smiley ). I used .025" for mine...
