As the title states, I love my car club, I love what it has become in the 20 years I have been involved. Foothills British Car Club, founded in 1994 to serve the upstate of South Carolina, yep this is our 30 year anniversary this year. In 1994 when it first started, there were about 5 members that came to the first meeting, the yearly membership fees was a book of stamps back then, LOL, Now we have 150+ members. When I was president in 2008 we started an email list where all the members could talk to each other, and plan non-official club events, Boy, did that ever take off, and flourish over the years, now we have over 100 non-official events each year and good 60+ drives each year, all year round, most of them in the Appalachian mountains. We normally have about 60-70 people at each monthly meeting, The president in 2010 was retired Navy Admiral Jack Dunagan, Jack had really well-equipped workshop with a 4 post lift and tons of tools. Sadly we lost Jack to cancer a few years ago (RIP). Admiral Jack as many of us called him, loved his MGB, and working on it, when he passed he willed the contents of his shop as for tools and his 4 post lift to the car club, and that was the beginning of "Jack's Place" our own workshop. At first it was in a rental location, now it is at a member's business who took a car repair shop and turn the front in offices, and now lets the club have the shop space at the rear of the building, and now that is the home of Jack's Place Other members have donated more tools and we have even added a second lift, 2 post lift.

Maybe I am biased, but I truly believe we have one of the very best British car clubs in the US, so Yes "I love my car club" smileys with beer

This was our Garage Day today, I also included a few pics from the past.

Thank you Admiral Jack for all you did for the FBCC, we will never forget you brother. smileys with beer

That is truly awesome. Our club has about the same number at our monthly meetings, but the club is nowhere near as active as yours. I'm jealous... tongue sticking out smiley
