I've been putting this off. Now I have all the stuff. Does the relay go on the same side as the fuse box?

The location of the horn relay, like most relays, doesn't really matter, but the rule of thumb for relays is that the closer a relay is to its "target" (in this case the horn), the less possibility for impedance between the relay and target.

I recently installed an inexpensive air horn and compressor. If you require a relay, I would place it on the fuse box side of the engine compartment (simplicity).

I did chose not to add the relay.

Good Luck!

I mounted mine to the radiator support bracket on a piece of aluminum channel. Lights, horns and a spare for future driving lights.

I was addicted to the hokey pokey but I turned myself around.
