Hello Everyone -

Well it's been three years - but my 16 year old son and I are getting close to the end of the restoration. We've completed the engine and have tuned it and broken it in on a dyno.
We've done a ton of work - new front and rear suspension, all new brake system, new fuel tank, new pedal box, refurbished radiator, refurbished heaterbox and on and on...

At this point we need to marry the gearbox, replace the drivetrain, connect the lines, add fluids, etc. But we're at a point where we could use a little extra help -would feel better with some experienced hands looking at the brakes and working with someone who has re-installed an engine.

Anyone in Fairfield county in Connecticut know of a good garage nearby who would help us get this punched into the endzone? Or perhaps know a mechanic that would swing by at critical installation points? Or would be willing to drink some beers and offer sage advice?

Open to ideas and willing to spend some $ to get this moving along.

Thanks everyone,

Phil Logsdon

I'd do it if I still lived in Connecticut, but it's a long commute from Texas!

Wow! Did you pick up that dyno at Harbor Freight?

If you remember the '60's, then you really weren't there.

That might be the best sounding MGB engine I have ever heard.

Nice job. If you can do that, the rest of the work will be a breeze.

I was addicted to the hokey pokey but I turned myself around.

Mostly stock - had to go 40 over and put in a hotter cam - but didn't go too crazy.

Thanks - Jim Coleman in Stratford CT has an engine shop - he did the machining and then he was kind enough to let my son and I come in on Saturdays and assemble under his guidance. Great guy doing great work. He was Paul Newman's engine builder back in the day.

You can try looking in "Clubs" in the left margin of this forum. In there should be some driver clubs where you may find someone or a group near to you that will be helpful. As with other hobbies, they may be a big help, and the hard part will be getting them to shut up and go home when the work is done. smiling smiley
Good luck
