Decided to relocate the fuel filter from its original location on the firewall near the brake booster (yellow arrow) to the inner fender away from the engine (blue arrow outlined in yellow), and used a larger filter for an early Mustang and quick disconnects. The pressure regulator is also now up front.
Easier to reach, farther from the heat, easier to replace.

Thanks. I'm getting too old to bend over far enough to reach the firewall without leaning on the fender with a screwdriver.
I also rerouted the fuel lines to the carbs from the rear of the carbs, along the manifold, to out front of them, away from heat. Just flipped the float covers front to back. So far the engine is happy.
