When diagnosing issues related to running and stalling, always check to see if you have gas in the tank first.

Here are a couple photos of when they visited with our club in 2015
Besides hearing of their journey's adventures, it was most interesting to hear about how they stored their spares, etc.

Bob towards the end of this blog it shows the damage in more detail. (I think the car should be re-bodied with a Heritage shell).

In the UK there are four categories of car accident damage;
Cat N, N’ stands for non-structural damage, like electronics or mechanics. You can use it again, and sell it on, once it’s been repaired.
Cat S, ‘S’ stands for structural damage. That means the bodywork or chassis needs sorting out. You can use it again once it’s been repaired and it can be sold on.
Cat B, It’s beyond repair, and the car body must be crushed, but you can salvage parts from it. It’s against the law to sell a second hand category B write-off.
Cat A, The car is beyond repair and must be crushed. It’s not safe or lawful to sell a category A write-off second hand. It is illegal to sell any part for spares even a gear lever knob
I would expect that the Red Car was a Cat S and the insurance company paid out rather than repair, hopefully that explains why its for sale.

Can anyone share the reason that it must be crushed?

To me the photo in the original post only looked like rear end damage that could be repaired, although after getting an estimate the insurance company may not feel that it is financially worthwhile. The photos near the end of the blog look like it has been rolled! Lots more damage than is indicated in the ebay listing.
So the idea is that the complete vehicle is for sale with understanding that it can only be parted out? That's what the listing says.
Here many owners of collector cars have "Agreed Value" insurance, because the "book value" of a 50, 60 or 70 year old car that the insurance would pay out is a great deal lower than the market value, or amount that you have invested in it.
In 2012 when "Super Storm" Sandy hit New Jersey, the drag strip next to our local airport was full of cars that had been totaled by the insurance companies after widespread flooding. Most appeared perfect. But if the water level had reached above the axle line, then the car was automatically totaled, due to the uncertainty of how the sensors that work the anti-lock braking, air bag deployment, AWD, etc., had been affected. Rumor had it that they were sold off-shore to countries that had lax, or no regulations at all, for importing "pre-owned" automobiles.
In any case, it is sad to see such a well-traveled and significant car to go to the crusher.

If you remember the '60's, then you really weren't there.
