I'm posting on both sites.

I'm looking for suggestions and examples of displays of MG T-Series tools at car shows. I want to display my set of MG tools at GOF-South next week. Not much time! Must construct it today or tomorrow.

Needs to break down to fit in my TF, protect from sticky fingers, and not trap moisture. Easy to assemble and setup. Maybe on legs, or sit on the tonneau.

Top Photo - My TF tools for display. Not shown, knock-off hammer and Lucas distributer screwdriver.

Bottom Photo - Matthew Magilton's TF tools.

Thanks for your help,

Lonnie

I don't think there's any way to truly secure them other than a locked cabinet, and then chain the cabinet to the car. Maybe use a pendleton blanket or similar, then bailing wire each tool to the blanket and roll it up. That would at least take some effort to steal one. Otherwise just put the display out while you're sitting by the car and put it away when you walk off. Or make a deal with the guys parked around you to watch each others stuff when one walks off.

I like the first layout. Organize them like that on a piece of light grey painted thin luan plywood or something like that. Drill two holes aside each tool and zip tie them down.

For a few shows I made a plexiglass box for the tools to be displayed in. It was just a cover so technically someone could lift it up and take off with tool. Sorry no pictures.

Later I just gave up and have a piece of carpet that I lay in the bed behind the seats and put the tools on it. Since I am close the car I never felt it was an issue.

I have what looks like a suitcase made of wood with Pegboard inside. Fits nicely in the back of the TD.

Lonnie I would invest in another tool set and set up one similar to Bruce’s on peg board and a case for easy transportation. Then don’t walk off leaving them unattended.
