Lets see some images of it. Is it a separate unit or radio /8-Track combo?

My neighbor, who is the original owner, has a mint condition1970 Olds 442 with the factory 8 track. Works great too

Oil leak?? What oil leak? That puddle under the car is just sweat from all that horsepower!!

My 1977 MGB had an MG dealer installed Pioneer 8 Trac / AM radio. I drove it about four years before I put in a cassette player with AM/FM radio.

We honeymooned in our 1972 VW Westfalia. It had an aftermarket 8 track tape player (installed in the glove box). We thought we were cool.

My first B, a 70, had a Muntz 8 track mounted vertically on the passenger side of the tunnel when I bought it in 72.
My next B, a 72 had a Clarion AM/Fm 8 track mounted properly in the console…switched to cassettes in the 3rd B.

My '60 Buick LeSabre & '78 Dodge B100 van had aftermarket players. "Those were the good old days." No rewind or fast forward, but four songs to choose from.

In 1966 my parents bought a brand new Lincoln Continental (with the suicide doors).

It had a built in the dash, all in one, AM/FM & 8 Track. I still have it somewhere in my attic.

The car even came with a leather box with about ten, 8 Track tapes.

The radio unit even had the control buttons for the power antenna built into it

Geez, guys. I recall installing a FOUR track stereo in my 60 Impala.

Would have been around 67 or so. It looked like an eight track but the driver wheel came up out of the machine and drove it.

Some of you must remember that.

This car is now very nearly completely done. Sure to find something else, but not now.........And 12 years later, I'm starting to fix things that were new when we built the car. It's pretty well de-bugged!

My first MGB came with an 8 track. It was a dealer installed option. I used to have the paperwork that showed it as an option, wish I could remember the cost. I have had 8 tracks in a few of my earlier vehicles.

I traded the 8 track out of the B for a cassette AM/FM

Well of course but, not any of my several MG's. I put one in my 1964 Dodge, my '69 Charger was factory, my wife's '74 Pontiac LeMans had one as did my '76 Dodge pick-up, they were aftermarket. We also had one in the "TV, AM/FM, 8 track, stereo record player console" in the house. I never had a cassette but the wife did in a couple of her vehicles. Those were the days!

I had a 4 track like Wayne. Had it in my ‘55 Buick back in 1971. Someone wanted it more than I did and broke open the wing window to open the car and steal it. Upgraded to an 8 track after that and installed it behind a grill in the dashboard.

I was addicted to the hokey pokey but I turned myself around.

Not in any of my LBC’s but did I install an under-dash unit in the ‘68 Torino I was driving in the early 80’s. I think I bought it from Canadian Tire.

My brother drove a ‘67 Lincoln Continental about the same time which had a factory 8-track player in the right side of the instrument panel.

Those cars are long gone but I may still have the tapes somewhere around here.

I installed a Lear Jet AM/FM/8-track in my '66 positive ground B. Had to insulate it from the body, which worked until a wire under the carpet grounded out and filled the car with smoke and killed the unit, among other things. This was in about '71, learned a lot since then!!

I've had several cars that had 8 Trac players, factory and under-dash. In fact, I still have an under-dash model in the cabinet in my garage. Worked great when I put it there about 50 years ago! lol. BTW, I had that exact Boston 8 Trac that you're holding in your hand in the picture. Great album!
