My Dana 44 rear axle came with impossible (for me) to adapt to my needs caliper brackets.

Jim Nichols (260MGB) turned me on to Nissan Altima vented rotors and some TBird calipers with internal e-brake.

My process was to LIDAR scan the caliper and my existing mounting bracket with my iPhone using Kiri, an app for 3d scanning. From there we brought it into Shapr3d to get proper measurements for all bolts, angles etc, and began an iterative process of 3d print, fit, modify, repeat (x5).

After 5 revisions everything fit up great and I sent it out to PCBWay for CNC.

Pretty happy with how it turned out! Total cost was around $500 start to finish.

$20 per print @ 5 print: $100
Final CNC: $200 shipped
Calipers & Calipers: $200

The joy of doing something fun and interesting: Priceless

NOTE: The angles are not wonky, its just my phone angle. I went out and double checked smiling smiley

So you now have the file and can order duplicates if you want or could perhaps recover your investment by selling the file?

I could sell it but I am happy to give it to anyone who wants a similar setup. I could not have done this without this community!

I suspect that this is a 1 of 1 project and no one else will want it.

BUT I'd love to help someone else on this same journey.

Well done!

The choice of parts is a reasonable one, and the bracket a most helpful conversion bit. The D44 is still a popular swap. I'm sure some will want the file. Wouldn't mind having it myself just in case.
