I'll probably get flamed for this but hey ho!
Has anyone tried fitting a cycle rack to a Roadster? The boot is spacious but not quite big enough for my road bike. I don't really want to use a fixed boot rack though I think they're a little ugly. I was looking at something like the Saris clip on rack or a Seasucker. Has anyone used something like this on their Roadsters?

Do what I did when I had a Healey 3000 and didn’t want to drill holes in the deck lid and also disliked the appearance of racks – I picked up another deck lid, painted it, drilled holes and securely mounted a rack. On a Healey, it’s 4 nuts to change the lid, on a B it’s 6 bolts. It did help to have 2 people but once it’s aligned and fitted the first time, it became a simple matter to swap lids. I carried bikes, skis, luggage and even a small sailboat (with the bow resting on the windshield frame) on that rack. Worked great.

In America most bicycle racks are used in conjunction with a trailer hitch receiver. I believe the Brits call it a tow bar.
An arrangement like that is easy to fabricate due to the fact it carries little weight.

Yep. I don't have photos of mine, but I have a rack that fits in my small (1 7/8"?) hitch receiver. The bike racks are reasonably priced, IIRC, even at Wal-Mart. Just insert rack into hitch receiver, load bikes and go. Mine accommodates 2 bikes.
I can provide a photo if needed.

I too have a trailer hitch that my bike rack fits onto.
The computer with schematics is out for service, but it came from some MG club.
Chicago?
I paid a local muffler shop to fabricate it on car.
Now that I bought a $6k e-bike (Cube Katmandu), that is too heavy for rack, I may never use it.

Here's a link to a UK company that makes a rack for the MGB roadster and others.
