My '74 B has Miata seats in it so there's not a lot of room between the tunnel and the seats. I am looking at the cable-buckle belts at Seatbelt Planet. Anyone have any experience with that type of belt?
Thanks.

Also have Miata seats and changing the seatbelts was a priority when bought. Went with Securon inertia belts with an extender for the female buckle. Work well and would recommend. Bought from Rimmer three years ago.

I want to go with the non-retractable shoulder belt, attached to the rear deck. I have the quick detach clips and will mount the shoulder end of the belt to these. I just don't want to have to keep searching to find the limp belt and am hoping that the cable belt will be easy to find and fit between the seat and the tunnel!
Also a priority is changing from the 2 point to the 3 point...

If you're asking about using cable mounts - I think of them as stalks - then my GT was fitted with them presumably by the Factory. As I'll be fitting Schroth's Rallye3 to my GT over my MX-5 seats I won't have the issue you're Experiencing.

If nobody has any "warnings" about getting these cable style buckles, I will order them today.

Search the forums for "Wesco" - I'll be ordering from them soon. I just need to decide on color/style. They offer a longer bucket seat end, or adjustable bench seat end.

Tom,

Question: 3 point seatbelts with Mr. Mike's seats. - What brand and how to install

I'm trying to decide how to get a cable female system at the transmission tunnel with a reel over the shoulder belt that will 'park' above the shoulder. I may use my rollbar and have a slip in clip for the shoulder strap similar to the MGB headrest clip but welded on the rollbar..

Any ideas in the group on make of seat belt or how I can attach without a rollbar? I want it to look good and not wear on the seat.

I'm trying to dial in plans for the interior while the engine/transmission are being rebuilt and the sills and bodywork/paint are being done.

My new Rimmer Bros factory hardtop is being delivered today.. (Last one in stock) That will allow me to figure if the Moss rollbar will fit without modifications. Finished installing my hoist last week so all hands on deck getting the former Putster (now Gurney) back on the road better than new.

Thanks

Jon

This was the seatbelt I bought in 2021 for $46.50. Has long stem for female side so one does not have to dig out the end. I have a GT so I also purchased the bracket for the back wheel well. This is where on the GT the seatbelt mechanism sits.

Since I have Miata seats there is no way to attach the belt as with MG seats with a guide. May just replace the screw holding the interior piece next to the seat back to hold the buckle. This should help eliminate 'fishing' for the male end of the seatbelt.

That look like what I'm after. Thank you! I do need to design a guilde

Maybe create a nice looking and stout bracket secured behind the hardtop bracket on the panel.

BTW my Rimmer Bros hardtop got here minutes ago. So well packaged I'm impressed with the company..

Yes, this is the type/shape bracket I will fabricate out of steel and either weld-mount on the roll bar or the metal panels behind the hardtop bracket behind the doors. Should work slicker'n snot once the shape is figured out. Then have them powder coated with either the ro9ll bar or panel bracket.
