I’ve just bought a lovely ‘68 midget. When I put the roof up it unfolds well, but on the passenger side when the roof is up it overshoots the windscreen a bit.

If I really push the roof back and push the windscreen forwards a bit I can just get the catch in, but it would be great if the mechanism didn’t push the roof past the windscreen - is it possible to make a simple adjustment?

Assuming we're not talking about a significant underlying body alignment issue, I have found the top frame fitment is sensitive to the fitting/alignment of the bracket that attaches the frame to the body, behind the occupants' outside shoulders. I suggest loosening (but don't remove) the attach bolts (3 on each side IIRC), do a little frame jiggling, and see if you can then attach the troublesome clamp without difficulty. When you find the "sweet spot", tighten down the bracket bolts and Bob's your uncle.

Good to know, mine overshoots the windshield header, but isn't tough to reel back to slip into the brackets.
It takes a bit of a heel strike to get it open, though. A small adjustment would be nice to have that a bit easier.

The next question is if the windshield and door(quarter-light) align well. If these are 'tight', the the windshield could need adjustment as well. This is accomplished with two bolts under the dash either side. Buggers to get to, but should just require loosening a bit to adjust the windshield. That would also help the 'over-shoot' of the convertible top-frame.
