So I fired up the Midget & backed out of the garage & discovered-no brakes! Almost hit the neighbors fence. Checked master cylinder (relatively new) and the front reservoir was bone dry. After inspection it appeared fluid leaked out at the pressure switch on the H block. After reading all the previous posts on the subject, it appears there’s two options-1) plug it, or 2) replace switch & o rings on the internal cylindrical switch actuator. My questions: will I need to drain the master cylinder of fluid to work on it? Hate to have to bench bleed it & start from scratch. Is there an easier was to stop the brake fluid from leaking out during this procedure?

You don't need to drain it but I have sucked out the MC resevoir to limit weeping out of the open fitting which you should then Cap as you pull them off the valve. That leaves fluid in the MC itself.
I also have a nice big rag with plastic under it as there will be fluid coming out of the valve and lines as you do the process.

You can plug it, brakes will work fine. You won't have a warning light.
You will need to shorten a bolt and use a Copper or nylon washer to pressure seal it.
Did that before repairing mine. But have since gone to a different dash so I don't have a Warning Light now.

As for capping during replacement, do you remember if that was a 3/8” ip style plug/cap?

You mean the brake lines? Just used a plastic vacuum cap that fit from my collection.
Don't cap the fitting, cap the end of the flared hard-line itself or it will leak.
