Hello fellow MG'ers - I just picked up another MGB Project and am slowly piecing it back together and I have an odd request. I am attaching a picture of the lower Frame for what looks like a Weber 2 barrel carburetor cover which has the base and is missing the top, the filter, and the clips to lock it down. I'm not so concerned with the clips as I can likely get away with some retrofitting but this is an odd shape and I can't seem to find it anywhere. Can someone please tell me where I can find one to purchase or if there is a used one in working order that would also be sufficient. Again, the frame is all there just missing the Top and the filter and it is not the usual square or round model so I am not sure if someone changed out the original but the vehicle is a true 1978. My 1976 has a completely different fitting and look to it.

Thank you and please let me know as I hunt this down. thank,

Jeff

Do yourself a favor and just buy a new complete filter. That base looks like the previous owner just cut it to kinda fit the carb....notice the big gaps between it and the carb. The cage part looks like it probably went with a dome shaped foam filter.

Lewk,

THank you for sending the link as I combed through Ebay and never found that one which is eerily similar to the one I need to replace. I really appreciate the lead and purchased it already and will now have the last piece of the puzzle. Even if it doesn't fit the specs are so close I'm sure I can retro fit it to do the job.

thanks again,

Jeff

Joe,

THank you for the advice. And graciously LEWK supplied me with one that has similar specs as I did see many but only smaller or other shape ones. The one on Ebay looked very close.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

thanks again,

Jeff

Pierce Manifolds have the correct air cleaner. I just got a rebuild kit and new clips for my air cleaner. They are a great source for carb parts and helpful information
