My overdrive switch isn’t engaging the gear. Any ideas please?!

Check oil level in gearbox.

Check for power to the solenoid with key on, overdrive switch on, gearstick in fourth gear.

Apply slight rightward pressure on the gearstick to see if this gives power to the solenoid.

If no joy, provide details, history, etc...
