..May add another Spitfire soon. My first was a new 63 in 1963. The first in upstate NY. After SCCA competition drivers school at Watkins Glen where I won my first race, (in the rain).. raced again at the Glen and Lime Rock. A 3rd place at the Glen Nationals in 64. (Stirling Moss announced the Formula 1 event then and took time to explain how to manage the difficult pit turn with my Spitfire. It helped. I also had a 47 Triumph 1800 and 48 Triumph 2000 sometime ago. Bought a guys 48 TR 2000 parts car and restored it with parts from a couple of other similar cars.

Larry, as long as it is British it will fit right in. This isn't an award show with classes like most. There are always some unusual cars there, so a Marcos would fit in perfectly! Rand

The British are coming!

The British Invasion is the Largest All-British Motorcar Show and British Lifestyle Event in the Eastern United States, annually attracting over 650 British Motorcars to the rustic mountain village of Stowe, Vermont on the weekend of the 3rd Saturday in the month of September each year. 2015 is a special celebration as it marks the 25th year of the British Invasion weekend.

On Friday, September 18th Registrants will collect their Registration Packages at the Registration Tent at the Stowe Special Events Field. From 4:30 to 6:30 we will host a reception at the show field for Registrants and Guests. From 6:30 to 9:30 PM, the Stowe Vibrancy Committee will host a Main Street Party. Main Street will be closed off to through traffic and reserved for British Motorcar Parking. Registrants and Guests and the local Community are invited to join in the merriment and a Live Band, with food and beverages available.
Saturday, September 19th will feature the British Concours d’Elegance, our judged competition for British Motorcar that are 25 years old and older. The British Classic Motorcar Show is the heart of our weekend of activities as we will offer over sixty (65) separate classes for British Awards will be presented for first, second and third place based upon the number of cars on the show field at 12:00 Noon on Saturday.

For the Ladies, our Queen will hold court and assemble the ladies for a Royal “Ladies Hat Competition” with awards presented. To add to the merriment, we have invited the car show registrants and their guests, as well as the General Public to impress our judges, who will be roving the show grounds incognito seeking the best examples of “British Attire” to recognize and award. The themes can be varied, could be Sherlock Holms, Robin Hood, Lady Marion, Winston Churchill, Sir Lancelot, Elton John, your favorite Beatle, just about anyone, well except for the “Queen,’’ as there can only be one Queen. You might wear your grandfather’s kilt or come dressed in fashion we have not yet thought of. Our judges will be tasked with selecting the Best of the Best.

Saturday will attract our vendors in the British Marketplace seeking a few of your crispies for British Motoring accessories, Motoring books, scale model motorcars, NOS Parts, Services, Ladies jewelry and fashion, or perhaps some British Motorcar Festival regalia. Perhaps you might find a local craft vendor presenting something very special for your consideration. Then add to this an amazing collection of “British Invasion” Music in the background to add to the flavor of the day. Based on interest and availability we may just add a very special Theme dinner on Saturday evening to round out the day.

Sunday, September 20thh - the fun continues. We will start with a 70 minute morning Smuggler’s Notch Run for those wishing to see more of rural Vermont. Meanwhile back at the show grounds at the Stowe Special Events Field, people will be setting up for the “Tailgate Picnic Competition” and the “Competition of Colors”. The British Market and Car Corral will in full swing as we present a special drive-by of the First Place Winners from the Saturday British Classic Motorcar Show.

Our website, http://www.britishinvasion.com contains registration information as well as a roster of nearby accommodations and restaurants for your reference. We hope that you will mark your calendars and plan to attend this most significant British Motoring Lifestyle event. The first 300 to Register will receive a special 25th Anniversary Meet Gift. You can register on-line using PayPal or download the registration form and mail it in. Remember to mark your calendars for the weekend of the third Saturday in the month of September (18th-20th) and join us in Stowe, Vermont for the 25th Year Celebration of the “British Invasion,” the largest All-British Motorcar Show and lifestyle event in the Eastern United States.

Date April 02, 2016

Special events to celebrate our 10th year. Show will be at the Historic Columbia Speedway again in conjunction with The Tartan Days South Festival. All Car Show entrants get into TSDSF at no additional cost. Last year we had 125 cars on the field and we are going all out for 200 this year with many new events and special awards. Keep in touch for updates.

Again this year our charity will be Pawmetto Lifeline which is a local "no kill" pet rescue service.
