We would like to invite all Morris owners to come down and enjoy the 29TH ANNUAL CT MG Club’s BRITISH BY THE SEA GATHERING at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford CT on June 5th, 2016

Visit our website for all the information, but if you have any other questions, please contact Steve at MGTD52@comcast.net

The CT MG Club's "BRITISH BY THE SEA” is a fun Gathering of people who own and appreciate British Vehicles. Our BBTS Gathering is always scheduled on the first Sunday in June, at the scenic 240 acre Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford Ct., on the north shore if Long Island Sound. We want to encourage people to come down and enjoy a day mingling with other LBC owners, talk about cars, have a picnic, a glass of wine, and also take in all that Harkness Memorial State Park has to offer, such as the beach, the Mansion Eolia, and the Gardens. The CT MG Club donates a large amount of our proceeds from BBTS to the Park to purchase plants for the West Gardens, helping to restore the “Eolia” Gardens to their original grandeur as designed by Beatrix Farrand in 1919. In addition, we provide “people power” over a few weekends to plant them. "BRITISH BY THE SEA" is not a judged show, although we do present etched glass mug awards to vehicles selected by popular vote.

We have selected a variety of quality food vendors to attend in order to satisfy any appetite, from hot dogs and hamburgers, lobster rolls, and wood fired brick oven pizzas, to Ice Cream and cupcakes for desert. You can also bring a picnic to enjoy and share “out of the boot” of your car. The expansive lawn areas offer ample room for display vehicles, spectator parking and a spacious area for trailer parking.

It appears the MG2016 planners were well aware of the great Louisville venues as they (Churchill Downs, Crowne Plaza, and Waterfront Park) were well selected. I live about 70 miles away and can't wait to drive down enjoy this entire event. From Monday through Thursday, looks like a full schedule of events. And the trips to Bardstown and another to the Corvette museum are unfortunately overlapping but either one will be fun. Tough choice as neither should be missed..Of course you don't like bourbon go see Chevrolet's finest in Bowling Green.. they still have left the Cave-in Crater in the middle of the Bowling Green museum for your viewling pleasure!). Cheers, see ya soon!

First of all, thanks for joining with us in the 15th annual Summer Tour. The first year, 2002, took us to Union, Oregon, and 14 cars participated! A lot of fun and a lot of miles over 14 years. The greatest part of this has been the friends we have made. Absolutely priceless!

This year’s trip to Twin Falls, Idaho will start from the Idaho Center parking lot in Nampa, Idaho. Please plan to arrive by 7:30 AM, driver’s meeting at 7:45, and we will depart following the driver’s meeting. Each car will receive a route booklet, which will highlight points of interest as well as interesting bits of history along the way. There will be no interstate driving on the route. If you are facing a freeway on-ramp, it’s not the way we intended you to go. We have pointed out a few rest stops (potty stops!?!) for your convenience along the way.

At approximately mile 144, you will be approaching Hagerman. Watch for a sign on the right directing you to Lower Salmon Falls Hydroelectric Project. If you signed up for lunch, it will be there waiting for you! Lunch will consist of fresh wraps of different types with local meats and cheeses, pickles, chip variety, veggies with dip, homemade dessert, water and lemonade; for $12.00 per person.

After lunch, you will have about a one-hour drive to the hotels. You will have time to settle in, wash your car, meet up with old friends, hopefully make some new ones! The welcome reception, at Canyon Crest Dining & Event Center is about eight tenths of a mile away and will kick off at 6:00 PM. Two very special guest speakers are on the agenda for the evening, so don't be late!

For those that care to walk to dinner, a path along Perrine Coulee goes right to Canyon Crest, and will offer some incredible views along the canyon rim.

Throughout the day Friday, there are choices! Dry land?? Water?? Whitewater rafting or a scenic motor boat tour?? If you would like to stay away from the water, we have put together a list of historical sites and scenic attractions that should keep you amused for a few hours, especially with lunch mixed in! How about a one-hour scenic motor boat tour of the Snake River Canyon from Centennial Waterfront Park to Pillar Falls? Cost is $15 per person,14 guests per trip. First trip will leave Centennial Park at noon. Possibly a float on the Snake? Hagerman Whitewater Rafting Adventure! Launching at 1:00 pm at Lower Salmon Dam, this trip lasts about 4 hours, and includes all of the equipment needed, a licensed guide on every boat, and transportation after the trip back to the launch point. Cost per person is $46.00. “This price includes all taxes and user fees. Not included is the guide gratuity which are optional & appreciated...most all of our guides are college students..., but we do like to say if you liked the ride tip the guide…”

Friday evening’s dinner offering will bring us all together again at Lower Salmon Falls Park. I have wanted to work in a Dutch Oven Dinner on a Summer Tour for years! Here it is. Shelley's Dutch Oven BBQ , with steak and chicken, dutch oven red potatoes, baked beans, and green salad, dutch oven fruit cobblers, cold drinks. Cost is $18 per person, includes all tax and serving staff gratuities. I think this will be a fantastic end to a great day on the Snake River!

Saturday morning, and yes we have a car show! It will be located in the City Park, shaded and on the grass. We will start parking cars at 8:00 AM, and we ask that you not leave the park until 1:00 PM.

Saturday evening we have dinner back at the Canyon Crest. We will be situated on the patio, enjoying the views of the Snake River Canyon. Your choices for dinner will be:
Roasted Tri-tip with natural Jus, Chicken Breast with Shiitake Mushrooms, and Seared Trout Filletswith citrus. If you have special dietary needs, let us know, we’ll work with that!

I hope this has provided a good overview of Summer Tour and explains the activities we offer to make this a memorable weekend.

Location King's-Edgehill School, Windsor, NS, Canada
Date July 16, 2016

The Seventh Annual British Motoring Festival will take place July 16, 2016, and once again we will enjoy the beautiful King's-Edgehill School campus in Windsor, Nova Scotia. King's-Edgehill is the oldest private school in Canada, dating back to 1788. The 65 acres of lawn and shade trees is just 40 minutes from Halifax.

Last year the Saturday events saw 135 participating vehicles from New England, Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic Provinces, and was well attended once again by visitors who came to see the great cars, motorcycles, trucks, even tractors, as well as to enjoy some authentic British cuisine and entertainment.

Planning for the 2016 event has begun, and we are hoping to have many of the past features, as well as some new ones. The great band Emerald Tide will be returning to entertain us on Saturday. This year we'll be repeating the annual Cricket Match, the exciting Valve Cover race, and back by popular demand, the Skit! As well, English cuisine and vendor booths will be available on site. Once again, folks can enjoy the town-walk and tour of the Haliburton House Museum, this year featuring the Hockey Museum. Stay tuned.

We'll kick off Friday evening with a street party on Water Street (the block where the Spitfire Arms is situated). The street will be closed off and we hope as many participants as possible will park their cars and mingle with the public. There will be entertainment and a chance to dine at one of the three restaurants in the block. (This replaces the Friday night reception). Saturday has the show with public viewing from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturday evening participants can join us for a banquet in air conditioned comfort. Sunday morning participants will enjoy the Spitfire breakfast, then the driving tour which winds through scenic back roads to a local point of interest.

In conjunction with the Washington DC lighthouse for the blind and other groups, the MGcar Club Washington DC Center sponsors this annual event. Each MG car and driver is paired with a sight impaired navigator. The navigator is supplied with directions in braille for a driving route of approximately 45 miles. Following directions provided by the navigator, each car attempts to match a route time that has been predetermined by a pace car that followed the same route. The car that mos closely matches the route time for the pacecar wins. There are first, second and third place trophies a number of categories; including youth and senior, large print and braille.

Award participation is limited by the number of navigators available, however many cars take family and friends of sight impaired participants out for a run around the rally route. After the rally, there is food, and an awards ceremony. Preregistration is required. Cost for this years registration have not yet been determined.

Once you complete the Funkhana you are awarded your ticket to the Rally. Expect the Rally to be fun, historic, educational and of course, scenic.

After you complete the Rally, dinner is on your own at any one of Farmington’s numerous eateries. Upon completion of dinner, join us back at the Courtyard Hotel as the bar, the lobby and the patio are yours to enjoy the remainder of the evening. Rendezvous committee members will set-up a picture show for you to view and/or critique!

SUNDAY, September 11th:
Sunday morning features a catered breakfast buffet and an awards ceremony at the Courtyard Hotel. All awards earned throughout the Rendezvous are presented at the breakfast. As in previous years, the awards are designed and created by Artist and long-time BAOA Member Ace Fry. For those of you with the experience of previous Rendezvous this morning event is much like the evening banquets we’ve enjoyed in the past.

Upon Conclusion of the awards Breakfast , we’ll again assemble the British Cars for a travel adventure to end the Rendezvous in Albuquqerque.

Hotel Accommodations (Made on your own):
The Farmington Courtyard by Marriot at (505) 325-5111 or (800) 627-7468
$89.00 nightly rate using booking code “British”. Add a word(s) if you’d like; British Car Club, British Event, BAOA, British Car Show; you get the idea….they know we are coming North and looking forward to our arrival!

If you love British cars this is the place to be the last Saturday in September. The Rocks State Park 4H Camp is an excellent country setting in rural Harford County, MD. Bring a picnic basket or purchase your lunch at the show and join the MGs of Baltimore for what has always been a superb show. Bring your parts shopping list for your ongoing renovation projects or your Christmas wish list for regalia and accessories. At MGs on the Rocks you will find:

- A field full of British cars in a casual park setting
- Lots of vendors of new and used parts.
- A great selection of various British cars for sale.
- An unlimited supply of expertise on whatever technical or restoration problem you have.
- Classic British Invasion Era Music
- Pit Beef Sandwiches and other treats from The Sunshine Grille
- A wide range of classes for awards for all British Marques.

Put your car on the field! Although we have many beautiful cars, this is very much a “come as you are” gathering. Only owners of cars on the field can vote.

Pre-register! Awards are generally 3 per class, but may vary as pre-registration indicates. We base our new classes on pre-registrations, so if you want to justify any new classes make sure you pre-register. Dash plaques are only guaranteed to pre-registrants. Plus you can drive right past that long line of on site registrants!

Important times: The field opens at 9:00 a.m.; all vendors should be in place by 10:00 a.m. Voting is closed at 1:00p.m. Awards will take place on the show field at 3:00 p.m. or as soon after vote counting allows. Sorry, no pets please (park rules).

Days Inn – 410 671-9990
Comfort Inn – 410 679-0770

The Meeting of the Marques Festival is a two day event. Day One is the Artistry on Wheels Motor Show (MOM) for sports and sports touring cars held in conjunction with the Carlisle, PA Harvest of the Arts Festival. Day Two is the Artistry in Motion Driving Tour.

Artistry on Wheels Motor Show

Our Artistry on Wheels Motorshow is a celebration of the automobile’s cultural impact upon society as rolling sculpture, not merely as a transportation tool. Artistry on Wheels allows over 20,000 HOT Arts attendees to visually sample of your automobile’s beauty, power and purpose. Those are a lot of opportunities to engage a memory, make a new friend or begin the process that may one day bring them into our fold.

Artistry on Wheels will be made up of two distinct groups:
- One group will be open to all British made (or U.K.) automobiles in recognition of the original Meeting of the Marques Motorshow, held for many years at the Allenberry Resort in Boiling Springs.
- The other group is open to Sports Cars and Sports-Touring Cars representing geographic regions – classes being North American, European and Asian. A ‘Wild Card’ class is added for the replicar community, likely dominated by the popular AC Cobras and Porsche Speedsters, and for any vehicle that does not fit into the regions stated above.

Artistry in Motion Driving Tour

As much as we may like showing off our cars at the Artistry on Wheels Motorshow, there are some of us who are driven to drive, and that is what the Artistry in Motion Driving Tour is all about. Our Tour Team is committed to providing you with a ‘Sunday drive’ of spirited fun, memorable stops and maybe even a few surprises. Our goal is that it will be a day you will fondly remember for years to come, so remember to pack a camera to capture your experiences.
