Rio Grande Regional Rendezvous Update
September 9-11, 2016
Farmington, NM

FRIDAY, September 9th:
This year’s Rendezvous will begin and end in Albuquerque. For those living outside Albuquerque, you can arrive in Albuquerque a day or two before and join the convoy north to Farmington; if you need help getting reservations or the great hotel deal you are looking for in Albuquerque, please contact Steve 505-306-9880 for assistance. After we arrive at the Courtyard Hotel in Farmington we’ll set-up for Registration and the Ice Breaker.

SATURDAY, September 10th:
Saturday morning is a British Car Show. Popular Choice and Judged categories are offered at the Show. Lunch is available at the British Car Show location.
At the conclusion of the British Car show we’ll begin the Funkhana . For those of you who have never participated in a Funkhana it is a low speed event in which you, your navigator and, of course your LBC, negotiate a fixed course for fun and time. Once you complete the Funkhana you are awarded your ticket to the Rally. Expect the Rally to be fun, historic, educational and of course, scenic.

After you complete the Rally, dinner is on your own at any one of Farmington’s numerous eateries. Upon completion of dinner, join us back at the Courtyard Hotel as the bar, the lobby and the patio are yours to enjoy the remainder of the evening. Rendezvous committee members will set-up a picture show for you to view and/or critique!

SUNDAY, September 11th:
Sunday morning features a catered breakfast buffet and an awards ceremony at the Courtyard Hotel. All awards earned throughout the Rendezvous are presented at the breakfast. As in previous years, the awards are designed and created by Artist and long-time BAOA Member Ace Fry. For those of you with the experience of previous Rendezvous this morning event is much like the evening banquets we’ve enjoyed in the past.

Upon Conclusion of the awards Breakfast , we’ll again assemble the British Cars for a travel adventure to end the Rendezvous in Albuquqerque.

Hotel Accommodations (Made on your own):
The Farmington Courtyard by Marriot at (505) 325-5111 or (800) 627-7468
$89.00 nightly rate using booking code “British”. Add a word(s) if you’d like; British Car Club, British Event, BAOA, British Car Show; you get the idea….they know we are coming North and looking forward to our arrival!

I opened this page, and saw your "Rio Grande Valley Regional Rendezvous".I was born, in the "Lower" Rio Grande Valley, in Edinburg, Texas, 70 miles from the Gulf Mexico. Now, I live near the cool Pacific Ocean, in Oxnard, CA. The outside temperature is 71 Deg F.My MGB is a 1977, that I have owned since 1983. I have rolled up 79,000 miles.I would be glad to come; but, I am approaching 77 years of age, and my doctor won't let me drive the MGB anymore. I have two grandsons, who will be the next owners.Roger N. Tanner, Professional Engineer, Retired

The British Are Coming!

The British Invasion is a British lifestyle event that started "over a pint of ale" in Stowe, Vermont, in 1990. A four-day event that starts on the weekend of the third Saturday in September each year, to include "all things British", with primary focus on classic British motorcars.

Beautiful Stowe, Vermont, plays host to a dazzling collection of classic British Motorcars on the third weekend in September every year. MG's, Triumph's, Austin-Healey, Jaguar, Singer, Morgan, Land Rover, Rover, Rolls-Royce and Bentley, Riley, Sunbeam-Alpine, and British Motorcycle comprise over 65 separate classes in the British Classic Motorcar Show. From high brow to low slung, the gamut of British auto history is well represented. They come in by the hundreds to compete in two major car shows - People's Choice and the Concours d'Elegance. Truly a British Invasion of fabulous proportions in a magnificent, world-class alpine setting. Stowe, VT has a British flavor and provides the perfect setting for such an event with; rolling hills, spectacular fall foliage, and wonderful winding roads to entice the British car enthusiast.

The British Invasion is the largest all British motorcar show in the United States annually attracting over 600 British motorcars from the US and Canada.

Location Bronte Provincial Park, 1219 Burloak Dr, Oakville, ON, Canada
Date September 18, 2016

British Car Day is hosted annually by the Toronto Triumph Club, on the third Sunday of September. Since its inaugural event in 1984, it has grown in leaps and bounds, and now draws well over 1,000 British cars and 8,000 spectators, with room to grow even bigger.

British Car Day is open to vintage, classic and current British manufactured vehicles, including motorcycles.

The event is the largest, one-day, all-British car event in North America, with visitors from Ontario, the northeast United States, the Maritime provinces, Quebec, and Manitoba, representing membership in 100 British car clubs.

However, you do not need to be a member of a car club to participate. Over the years, we have even had visitors from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Texas, the UK, and New Zealand.

The Colorado English Motoring Conclave will be holding the 33rd edition of the Annual Conclave on Saturday and Sunday, September 17 & 18, 2016, at Oak Park, 64th Place and Oak Street, Arvada, Colorado. The gathering of over 500 English vehicles (cars, motorcycles, and 4WDs) is the largest in the Rocky Mountain region of the United States

The Colorado English Motoring Conclave was first coordinated in 1983 as a joint effort of the many English car and motorcycle clubs in the Denver metro area. The Austin-Healey, Jaguar, Lotus, MG Car Club, MG T Register, Morris Minor, Rolls Royce, Sunbeam, Triumph, TVR, Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing and British Motorcycle Association clubs all take part in the planning and promotion of this annual event.

Last year was another great event on a beautiful weekend you all joined in and helped us in having another great event keeping The Colorado English Motoring Conclave as the largest and best-known British motoring event in the Rocky Mountains and it is all because of YOU.

Come join us as we celebrate YOU and your British 'ride'!!! The wonderful owners and caretakers of the British Motoring Hobby in Colorado.

This event is about you and your wonderful British Car or Bike!

The purpose of the Colorado English Motoring Conclave is to further the operation, preservation and owner participation of the great British marques. The St. Louis All British Car and Cycle show is an annual event that has been taking place for 35 years. The show brings out a wonderful selection of the finest classic and more modern examples of the British Automobile and Motorcycle industries. This year's featured marque is the Triumph TR6. Come and visit to see over 150-200 beautiful cars and perhaps re-live a few memories. Anyone is welcome to enter the show. If it runs, or even if it doesn’t, bring it along and join in.

The show takes place in Creve Coeur Lake Park and offers a wonderful scenic setting by the lake with shade from some large trees. We will again have 30 Classes this year. Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in all classes. For Chairman’s Choice we have a special trophy to be awarded. A concession stand offering food and drinks during the show is operated by the St. Louis Triumph Owners Association. We offer both online registration and regular offline registration for your convenience/ preference. Besides the Show’s website, visit us on Facebook (St. Louis All British Car Show) and Twitter @ABCSSTL

If you love British cars this is the place to be the last Saturday in September. The Rocks State Park 4H Camp is an excellent country setting in rural Harford County, MD. Bring a picnic basket or purchase your lunch at the show and join the MGs of Baltimore for what has always been a superb show. Bring your parts shopping list for your ongoing renovation projects or your Christmas wish list for regalia and accessories. At MGs on the Rocks you will find:

- A field full of British cars in a casual park setting
- Lots of vendors of new and used parts.
- A great selection of various British cars for sale.
- An unlimited supply of expertise on whatever technical or restoration problem you have.
- Classic British Invasion Era Music
- Pit Beef Sandwiches and other treats from The Sunshine Grille
- A wide range of classes for awards for all British Marques.

Put your car on the field! Although we have many beautiful cars, this is very much a “come as you are” gathering. Only owners of cars on the field can vote.

Pre-register! Awards are generally 3 per class, but may vary as pre-registration indicates. We base our new classes on pre-registrations, so if you want to justify any new classes make sure you pre-register. Dash plaques are only guaranteed to pre-registrants. Plus you can drive right past that long line of on site registrants!

Important times: The field opens at 9:00 a.m.; all vendors should be in place by 10:00 a.m. Voting is closed at 1:00p.m. Awards will take place on the show field at 3:00 p.m. or as soon after vote counting allows. Sorry, no pets please (park rules).

Lodging is available at Exit 77A of I-95:
Days Inn – 410 671-9990
Comfort Inn – 410 679-0770

The Meeting of the Marques Festival is a two day event. Day One is the Artistry on Wheels Motor Show (MOM) for sports and sports touring cars held in conjunction with the Carlisle, PA Harvest of the Arts Festival. Day Two is the Artistry in Motion Driving Tour.

Artistry on Wheels Motor Show

Our Artistry on Wheels Motorshow is a celebration of the automobile’s cultural impact upon society as rolling sculpture, not merely as a transportation tool. Artistry on Wheels allows over 20,000 HOT Arts attendees to visually sample of your automobile’s beauty, power and purpose. Those are a lot of opportunities to engage a memory, make a new friend or begin the process that may one day bring them into our fold.

Artistry on Wheels will be made up of two distinct groups:
- One group will be open to all British made (or U.K.) automobiles in recognition of the original Meeting of the Marques Motorshow, held for many years at the Allenberry Resort in Boiling Springs.
- The other group is open to Sports Cars and Sports-Touring Cars representing geographic regions – classes being North American, European and Asian. A ‘Wild Card’ class is added for the replicar community, likely dominated by the popular AC Cobras and Porsche Speedsters, and for any vehicle that does not fit into the regions stated above.

Artistry in Motion Driving Tour

As much as we may like showing off our cars at the Artistry on Wheels Motorshow, there are some of us who are driven to drive, and that is what the Artistry in Motion Driving Tour is all about. Our Tour Team is committed to providing you with a ‘Sunday drive’ of spirited fun, memorable stops and maybe even a few surprises. Our goal is that it will be a day you will fondly remember for years to come, so remember to pack a camera to capture your experiences.

This hugely popular event takes place again on the June bank holiday 2017, between Friday June the 2nd and Monday June 5th.

Classic cars from all over the globe are welcome to join in this journey back in time experience. The original Gordon Bennett route was first run in 1903 and travelled through the charming country sides and villages of Kildare, Carlow and Laois. However, instead of the neck-breaking race it once was, this event invites you to take a gentler approach and to travel at your own pace whilst embracing the experience of a weekend filled with fun, nostalgia and liked minded individuals.

Civic resumption by Laois County Council; Gala Dinner (very casual); Beautiful planned car runs; plaques and prizes; and an experience of driving the original course, through the inspiring splendour of the Irish countryside or ambling through the quaint and curious little towns.
